The Heart Sound Recorder (HSR) is a computer based Low Risk General Wellness Heart Stress Monitor used to acquire, display, and record heart sounds. It allows us to properly test for the functional rate, rhythm, and tone of the heart as well as to assess the integrity of the four heart valves.
This is an extremely valuable tool that allows us to evaluate the function and nutritional needs of the heart, as well as the rest of the body, due to the fact that the heart serves as a window into the function and physiology of every cell of our body.
The Heart Sound Recorder is used to detect a myriad of heart issues as well as many systemic issues. This includes but is not limited to:
The test is performed by placing the Heart Sound Recorder microphone over each of the four heart valves. The microphone is placed on top of the patient’s clothing and secured around the body using a strap. The test is extremely comfortable and non-invasive. During testing, we will also check blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and pulse rate using a pulse oximeter, which is placed around the fingertip. Once the proper placement of the microphone is determined, the recorder will record the electrical activity of each valve (mitral, tricuspid, atrial, and pulmonary) for approximately 15 seconds each.
Based on the patient’s individual results, we will prescribe whole-food nutritional supplements to correct any issues that are found. Re-testing will be done periodically to monitor each patient’s progress.
